….Noa.
The news has been broke that awesomely idoltastic Tsuji Nozomi and her hubby Ultraman have had their Ultra-lovebaby, and her name is Sugiura Noa. Yes, the first Morning Magomusume (to use jinryuichi’s words) has been brought into this world. And her name is actually pretty cute. I like the sound of Sugiura Noa. It’s, dare I say it, an idol name. For some reason, that makes me believe that UFA engineered this entire thing, and that Sugiura Noa is going to be like the second coming of Gocchin in MoMusu-world, but still. I’m really happy for Nono and her hubby and their little bundle of joy.
That’s not to say I’m not curious. And so, because I’m a total loser and thought it might be fun, I actually drew up the birthchart for Sugiura Noa. Read the rest of this entry »

I can’t help it. I like Mikan, I don’t like Mikan, I like it again. WTF, Tsunku, WTF. Why does your munchie-tastic mania give me such a hard time?
So. I just got a hold of a copy of the Mikan single (DL-ed, because my parents are lame and won’t let me order it offline)…. And I have to review it, full out. Because it deserves a full review, and because I have nothing better to do. Read the rest of this entry »

To all the new readers I’ve gotten over the past week… Thank you for all the comments you’ve posted, and the posts you’ve read. It makes me feel really, really good to see that people are reading, and then commenting ♥ As a semi-new blogger, it’s also really special. In the past couple days, I’ve had a little over 150 views–and people have left comments all over.
So thank you, and please keep supporting Morning☆Kuri!

I’ve touched on my dream of a Crystal Era. This would be my vision of a Neo Golden Era. Yes, I have been watching way too many episodes of Sailormoon lately, and yes, I’m also really speculative and fearful of 9th gen. I’m sure they would do some good, but I’m still fearful. Besides that, I’m also studying about muckrakers in History AP, and that’s taking up an awful lot of time (partially because I really like it when we do journalism in History, and partially because my US History 2 AP course just naturally takes up more than half of my time).
Anyway. My Crystal Era dream. There are several keys needed to unlock the door to this glorious era that is just waiting for Morning Musume. And you’ll have to excuse the rambling–it simply comes with the territory.

Kudos to those who get the title. If Japanese characters don’t show up on your screen, I’m sorry. The title is ”kono yo no naka ni….” Anyway. The tragedies After my last, semi-depressing post about all the bad things that could happen and that have happened, here’s some GOOD things. Namely, my top 10 MoMusu of all time. “Rankings” seem to be relatively popular these days, and I really am putting off reviewing the new Berryz PV because I really, REALLY hate it, so… I might as well, right?
Besides, after I insulted Gen4, I have several good things to share.

Together with Tsukiki of VERY BEAUTY, I’m the other half of karaoke duo BiKi. We were under Tsukiki’s Mignon! Project, but we’ve recently broken away to be an independent duo. As such, we have a wordpress where we plan to release our things, BiKi no NONSTOP!
If anyone out there sings–or likes to sing ♪–drop us a line, because we’d LOVE to do a collaboration. We’ve done mostly Hello! Project to date, but we’re starting to move into other jpop groups (like AAA and mihimaru GT)~!

I worry very deeply for Morning Musume right now.
The Golden Era is officially over (it died when Nacchi left, but we had fizzles of it every once in a while [Aruiteru was the final glimpse of a possible “Neo Golden Era,” which I am officially dubbing the CRYSTAL ERA–with Yossy’s departure and Miki’s subsequent scandal, it was sealed: we will never see a glimmer of the Golden Age again).
But that’s not what worries me. What worries me is that Tsunku and his superiors have the power to do something incredibly stupid.
Two words.

Five reasons why I love the new Koda Kumi single, and you should too.
- THE PV IS KICKIN’. No, literally, this PV is amazingly hot. There are a myriad of reasons behind that, but still. The PV pwns me, it pwns you, it pwns most of Hello! Project (if H!P made a PV like this, I would die in happiness). It fits in with the Resident Evil feel, in a strange way. For some reason, I think where they’re dancing is where the Umbrella Corp chills. Their sexy Tokyo base, at least. Anyway. There’s plenty of sexy effects, there’s fun dancing, there are sexy boys…
- Speaking of Sexy Boys, there is DBSK. They. Are. Hot. They sound hot. They rap. They dance. One of them does some incredible gymnastics. There is much, much more that I want to say, but I will not, for fear that I overthrow Ku-chin and Gocchin in the whore-ish behavior department. But I will say this: PLZ MARRY ME DBSK. I WOULD BELIEVE IN POLYGAMY FOR YOU ;D [this is the first release I've ever heard DBSK in. After hearing LAST ANGEL, I acquired several of their Korean songs--All In Vain makes me a happy Kuri, and the Hi Ya Ya song is just FUN. I play it at work... Everyone thinks I'm crazy because my mp3 player goes from Paramore to Korean Boybands, but whatever. THEY'RE SEXY.]
- Ku-chin sounds incredible here. She sounds mature, not like she’s trying to be sexy, but pulling it off nonetheless. Honestly, this sounds like something that could be released in the US, with EASE. And Ku-chin’d be 10x better to watch than Britney Spears at the VMAs, for sure. Actually, anything would be better than that…..
- I saw Resident Evil 3 with an awesome guy, and the first thought I had going into the movie was “Koda Kumi + DBSK sing the song for this… in Japan. I can’t wait to hear it!!” It makes the movie so much more bearable (WHEN THERE AREN’T ZOMBIE BIRDS FTW. THOSE THINGS ARE SCARY. I CANNOT LOOK AT MY GRANDMA’S PET BIRD THE SAME WAY). Oh, anyway. Just knowing about the existance of LAST ANGEL makes a scary-ass movie much easier to stand. Even if there are still zombies.
- The very idea of ZOMBIE!KODA is too awesome to resist. COULD YOU IMAGINE HER IN ONE OF THE GAMES?! IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME. Oh, and DBSK’s prescence as sexy zombies would be awesome. They would make zombies very, very sexy.
Other reasons why you should like this song include its fun lyrics (“shanna wanna come on tonight” FTW); DBSK’s hotness the fact that it’s an image song for a zombie movie; the fact that Koda Kumi looks amazingly like Hamasaki Ayumi in several shots of the PV; and the fact that the song is, quite simply put, a kick-ass song. It’s really… unique. It reminds me of SOMETHING, but not of anything in Jpop. It’s a… universally appealing song.
Also, it’s currently #3 on Oricon. I WANT IT TO HIT #1. COME ON DBSK KU-CHIN! GIVE ME A NUMBER 1 FOR MY KOREAN SEXY BOYS!!

Goddamn you, PVs. Goddamn you.
The last time I spoke of Mikan, I really, really, truly and honestly could not STAND IT. Everything about the song screamed “PLEASE KILL ME NOW.” It was grating, irritating, drove me insane. It sounded like a b-side (it still does), it was bad, there was no Junjun, etc etc etc.
But… Something “happened.” And now… It’s slowly growing on me (sorta like Mittsi, that damned adorable Sugar Spore).
What was it? Was it the covers? The PV? The side-story that I have to tell later on? OR ALL THREE? Because it sure as hell wasn’t the song.

Well, yes, it’s true, I made the leap from Livejournal to WordPress this week. Morning Kuri! has gone through a mini-revamp, even adding a star in there (because I like stars, I guess?), and now has a friendly banana layout, courtesy of wordpress…. Probably because I like fruit quite a lot.
For anyone who didn’t read the livejournal version of this, I’m Kuri-p. I’m a hyperactive, cynical, Jpop-loving 16-year-old with a dream of either going into journalism or moving to Japan and joining either Morning Musume or Berryz Koubou. Or reviving the Coconuts. I live on an island. It could happen.
In addition to blogging about the wonders of Hello! Project, I also have a side interest in karaoke groups (I’m in several! ♥) So, I’ll probably pimp them out, and review their releases as seriously (and sarcastically) as I would an H!P one. Okay, so that’s not always the nicest thing to do… But the truth is rarely nice, anyway.
So, this was an introductory post. It’s rambling, and that’s what you can come to expect from me. WOOHOO, right?! YEAH! AWESOME!!!
I planned on making my first wordpress post last night, but, well… Things happened, and… Well, I’ll be reviewing that damn Mikan song/PV/covers today. ♥ Peace(^^)v out.
